While most NFL players will be home recuperating from the grind of the football season as they watch Super Bowl LIV this Sunday, one former player will be enjoying his new role within the CBD industry.

Former New Orleans Saints player and Super Bowl Champion Roman Harper has partnered with The Hemp Doctor, a CBD producer with a full line of products including tinctures, soft gels, salves, edibles, drinks, vapes, and more. The company is based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, and serves consumers across the country.

Having played for eleven seasons in the NFL, Harper knows full well about the rigorous physical demands of playing professional football. The injuries players endure can lead to chronic pain and even depression. Harper experienced this himself when he suffered a knee injury early in his career.

“After playing football for eleven years I’ve seen the benefits of it [CBD], how it’s been able to treat my body,” Harper said in a video clip posted yesterday by The Hemp Doctor.

After witnessing the physical and mental challenges NFL players go through, Harper wanted to identify a safe and effective treatment for athletes. He had the opportunity to tour a large-scale CBD production facility and began to understand why the cannabinoid was gaining popularity among athletes. He then started his own research on cannabinoids and the positive impact CBD can have on pain management and recovery. After searching for a company that created quality products while also providing resources and education for consumers, Harper decided to join The Hemp Doctor.

Harper now lives in Charlotte where he balances his responsibilities as a sports analyst for Fox 46 and ESPN with his work for The Hemp Doctor. Harper also pursues philanthropic work, overseeing the Harper Hope 41 Foundation, which promotes child literacy initiatives, advocating for breast cancer research, and working with Carolina Breast Friends.
