CALIFORNIA – VCC Brands, one of California’s original authorities on cannabis infused edibles since 2008, is celebrating the launch of its newest offering, Subtle Tea. This adaptogenic, cold brewed tea is available in stores nationwide in a Broad Spectrum formula infused with hemp-derived CBD, while a Full Spectrum formula with low dose THC is available in California dispensaries.
Both hemp and THC formulas contain an adaptogenic ensemble of plant-based compounds that help expand the body’s capacity to handle mental, physical, and emotional stress. Each chilled tea is handcrafted with fair trade, organic ingredients and infused with a proprietary blend of terpenes and cannabinoids to help balance the body’s Endocannabinoid System, which impacts stress response and mood.
“Cannabis is about finding your sweet spot with the minimum viable dose,” says VCC Brands Founder Kenny Morrison. “Unlike conventional pharmaceuticals, more cannabis doesn’t always mean ‘more effective’ because cannabis is biphasic. Taking too much can make you fixate on the issue you seek to relieve, rather than put you in a better state of mind to navigate it.”
Broad Spectrum Subtle Tea contains a wide array of hemp-derived cannabinoids, not including the psychoactive compound THC. Full Spectrum Subtle Tea contains the full spectrum of cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, including THC. Subtle Tea’s broad spectrum formula contains 25mg of hemp-derived CBD per bottle and contains zero THC. The full spectrum formula is available in 2 potencies: 10mg THC or a 1:1 ratio with 5mg THC and 5mg CBD.
VCC Brands Founder Kenny Morrison reflects on how his company took a detour from making THC edibles and got started crafting tea: “We’d already been in business for two years making cannabis baked goods and chocolates in Venice Beach when Dennis Hopper’s nurse came into our dispensary with a request in 2010. Dennis was battling cancer and found relief through THC so his nurse asked us for something hot and soothing that Dennis could drink. I started out by crafting a dry tea which needed to be prepared. I delivered these first samples to the doorstep of Dennis’ home right down the street from our shop. Each time I was invited back, I refined the formula more and more.”
With this new launch a decade later, the bottled, chilled teas are available in three delicious flavors: Jasmine Green Tea with Lychee, White Peach Tea with Cardamom, and Ginger White Tea with Fuji Apple. Each subtly sweet tea contains no sugar, calories or artificial sweeteners. As hemp wellness becomes more widely embraced, Subtle Tea offers a practical method for obtaining the benefits of cannabinoids in day to day life.
Broad Spectrum Hemp Subtle Tea is available to purchase from participating retailers in California for $7-8. Full Spectrum versions containing THC are available in California dispensaries for $8-10.
